Prior to forming Willow Creek Partners, Matt was Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of a private equity firm in the Washington, DC area managing investments in both private real estate and private companies for independent firms and their clients. Matt set the strategic direction and oversaw all investment operations including the sourcing and origination of deals, conducting due diligence, and managing funds. Under his leadership, the firm acquired $400 million+ in real estate assets and invested in 36 early stage technology companies. Matt previously sat on the Board of Directors of Venga – a customer analytics and marketing software for restaurants, and on the Board of Directors of Social Tables, which was acquired by Cvent for $100 Million. He began his career with Morgan Stanley, continuing on to BB&T and Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia). Matt earned his MBA from Meredith College and a BS in Economics from Virginia Tech.
Giuliano is a Certified Public Accountant with over 21 years of audit, corporate accounting, and finance experience across real estate, healthcare, life sciences, and technology industries. He’s managed all areas of the corporate business life cycle; from startup companies to multi-billion-dollar public companies. Before Willow Creek Partners, Giuliano served as CFO for a Northern Virginia private equity firm overseeing firm diligence, investor reporting, fund reporting, taxes, and the acquisition of over $200 million in multifamily, office, and mixed-use real estate assets. He previously worked for Ernst & Young, Deloitte & Touche LLP, Sunrise Senior Living and performed external reporting for CarrAmerica, ensuring SEC and GAAP accounting requirements. He also assisted in the transition of CarrAmerica after its acquisition by The Blackstone Group. Giuliano has undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Finance from Virginia Tech.
Phat has over 15 years of experience in investment underwriting, valuation, financial modeling, accounting, and audit. Before Willow Creek Partners, Phat was a member of the investment team at a private equity firm in the Washington, DC area. During his time there, he underwrote over $200 million in acquisitions of real estate assets including multifamily, office, and mixed-use space in the Southeast US. Phat also has experience at various financial services companies such as Fannie Mae, CapitalSource Bank, Allied Capital, and RSM McGladrey. Phat has undergraduate degrees in both Finance and Accounting from George Mason University.
